A Day In The Life

Okay, so...yeah. *wrings out mouse hand*

This was originally intended for 's Beatle-song-interpretation contest, and it may still end up being submitted there, but I'm not too sure just yet. This is my favourite Beatle song, for the record, and therefore probably my favourite song ever as well, so I wanted to do it right, but...

Whilst I was doing this, I was trying to transfer every image that consistently comes into my head when I listen to this song into something tangible that also made some semblance of sense on the canvas, and I think I did that pretty well. I knew I needed a road at this angle, a car (should have been angled differently, but...), fireworks, etc., etc., so I put it all together, but the final product is really...dark. o.0 Sort of apocalyptic. And this isn't a happy song to me, but I don't feel...I dunno, depressed or anything like that when I listen to it, just very thoughtful. Still, I think my natural style is to go for darker shades, so that's how this came out.

I may try it again with a completely white background. I dunno. Tell me what you think.
